Look Bigger & Handle CallsMore Efficiently
There are a million and one reasons why going green with your business is a good idea. First and foremost, our precious environment is fading fast and if we don’t take action now, we’ll be saying ‘bye bye’ sooner rather than later. Going green is also a great way to cut costs, which is a benefit every small business owner I know can get on board with. If you haven’t already done so, here are five simple ways you can start conserving and saving some dough by going green.
Choose Recycled Material – One of the easiest and painless ways to make your business a little greener is by choosing to use recycled products like paper and packaging. Nowadays recycled items are much easier to find and in most cases cost just about the same as new stuff. The impact it’ll have on the environment, however, is incredible.
Reduce Energy Usage – Another simple way to help the earth is by reducing your energy consumption. This can be done a number of ways such as by purchasing and using energy efficient equipment, only using lights and electricity in areas of the office that are in use, and by keeping doors and windows closed when the heat or air conditioning is on. As a bonus you’ll also see a lower number on your utility bills.
Get Some Plants – Not only do plants spruce up the look of an office but they also benefit the environment because they absorb airborne pollutants and negative ions produced by computers, while also emitting oxygen. I don’t know about you but I’m a big fan of clean oxygen.
Embrace the Remote Workforce – Letting your employees work from home some or all of the time can help in a number of ways. Not having to drive to the office means less air pollution from vehicles and fewer people in the office means lower energy usage. Plus, your team will dig you for being such a hip boss!
Go Paperless – Today’s technology provides a number of ways to reduce paper usage or eliminate it altogether. For instance, tools like email and electronic faxes make communication fast, efficient and paper-free with little to no extra effort on your part. With the average office burning through nearly 10,000 sheets of paper each year, you’ll be saving money and a boat-load of trees.
At Synclio we’re pretty keen on the earth as well. It just so happens that virtual phone systems are excellent tools to help businesses become greener. Think about it – because they’re cloud-based they save on energy consumption and they make remote working easy and efficient by allowing your team to make and receive calls from anywhere. So, if you’re not on the conservation bandwagon yet the time to start is now. These tips will help you to reduce your carbon footprint and make a positive impact on the environment so we’ll all be able to enjoy it for years to come.
